The quest continues for new concepts and new faces in Spidey's web.
Now that issues are laid to rest concerning Emma Stone's character in the upcoming Spider-Man reboot (she'll be filling in as Gwen Stacy), A villain will wreak havoc courtesy of Rhys Ifans. Who?
According to reports, Ifans will portray the web crawler's nemesis in the film, although it's still misty at this point as to exactly who the opposition is. Uh-oh. My spider sense tells me that they better do a good job on this one. Right, Mr. Webb?
Ifans, 43, also a musician, has made notable appearances in 'Notting Hill' and 'Enduring Love,' and will also co-star in the forthcoming 'Harry Potter and the Deathly Hollows,' plus a title role in 'Mr. Nice,' a Howard Marks biopic.
This time he'll be squaring off against Spidey himself, (played by Andrew Garfield).
If they're looking to get rid of Gwen Stacy at an early stage, then the bad guy has got to be the Green Goblin. Then again, there's a huge list of villains the web-slinger has crossed paths with. Stay true to the comics but show the people something they haven't already seen as well.
