Angelina Jolie's directorial film debut has been met with much difficulties this week. Last Thursday, it was reported that Minister of Culture Gavrilo Grahovac had revoked a permit for Jolie to shoot in Bosnia. But now, Jolie has begun to question Bosnia's decision to withdraw her film.

Jolie defended her film stating that Bosnia's decision to revoke her permit was based on false rumors that her film will revolve around a love story between a a Bosniak woman and a Serb man who raped her during the country's war, according to The Huffington Post.

However, it isn't helping that Jolie and her crew is not disclosing much info on the movie, making it more difficult to pacify protests.

In a report by the LA Times, Geyer Kosinski, Jolie's longtime manager and a producer on the film stressed Jolie's interest in constructing an authentic story, saying she had spent "months researching" the film and was using a multi-ethnic cast to better reflect the region's complexities.

Jolie said she saw the film as a continuation of her humanitarian efforts. "The choice to make a film about this area and set in this time in history was also to remind people of what happened not so long ago and to give attention to the survivors of the war," she said in her statement.

Taking all these into consideration, it really seems unfair to be passing premature judgement on her efforts. Even with little research, one could easily make an impression that the issue on wartime rape during the Bosnian war is a very sensitive matter and would be met with protest if not dealt properly. It's unlikely that Jolie and her team would take this lightly.
