Freedom's like a ship slowly drifting off into that ocean.
At least for troubled media queen Lindsay Lohan, who just keeps going around in circles with her share of legal disputes. But once again, she avoids time in the slammer, thanks to LA Judge Elden Fox.
Los Angeles Times reports that Lohan, 24, has been ordered by Judge Fox to prolong her rehab stay at the Betty Ford Center until January 3 2011, despite possibilities of sent back behind bars after violating a probation violation. A modern day Houdini if I ever saw one.
If you recall, Fox had previously contradicted a recommendation from the prosecutor involved in the case, which includes Lilo having to spend 180 days or a total of 6 months in county jail. Yet the judge makes her motives crystal clear regarding the said decision.
"You are an addict," Fox reportedly told a teary-eyed Lohan. "I hope you understand that. I don't want another train wreck." Train wreck is an understatement but it'll do.
Then again, if Lilo for some bogus reason, decides to re-violate the probation terms of her infamous 2007 DUI charges, she'll be getting the ultimatum served on a silver platter. And that includes giving a nod to the prosecutor's original recommendation of a lengthy 6-month jail stint.
Look at it this way, cupcake. Not everybody gets to spend Christmas and New Year's eve in rehab. Lucky, lucky!
