Joaquin Phoenix's Documentary a Hoax, Says Casey Affleck!

SAN FRANCISCO - OCTOBER 27: Actors Joaquin Phoenix (L) and Casey Affleck arrive at the reading of 'The World Of Nick Adams' to honor Paul Newman held at Davies Symphony Hall on October 27, 2008 in San Francisco, California. The performance is a benefit for Paul Newman's Hole In The Wall California Camp, The Painted Turtle; a recreational camp and family health care center for children suffering from life-threatening diseases. You ever seen a massive baloney on a platter? Just check out a former actor's rap career!

Casey Affleck has come clean about his most publicized documentary 'I'm Still Here,' which highlights Joaquin Phoenix's somewhat bizzare journey into the world of hip hop. One huge make-believe journey.

Affleck, 35, and married to Joaquin's sister Summer, has exposed the real deal to New York Times article about the film, which has collected "angry reviews."

"I never intended to trick anybody. The idea of a hoax, unquote, never entered my mind," say's Ben's younger sibling. The film, which keeps track of Phoenix's two years of role playing, including a 'mock' guesting on the 'Late Show With Dave Letterman,' was patterned after the journalism of Hunter S. Thompson.

Affleck has his reasons behind his controversial masterpiece. He disclosed to New York Times that his noble intentions were for the audience to experience the film's message about the disintegration of celebrity without the distraction of preconceived notions. Whatever makes you sleep at night, pal.

As for Phoenix efforts in the over-hyped mockumentary, Affleck only has good words reserved for his brother-in-law.

"It's a terrific performance, it's the performance of his career."

Hoax or whatever, this'll be scorching hot for sure. Take for instance, The Blairwitch Project!
