Former YouTube sensation Charice Pempengco arrives with a big bang in the second season premiere of Glee "Audition."
The groovy 18-year-old Filipino with the powerful pipes wowed Gleeks worldwide, as she showcased her intense vocal prowess in one of the highlights of the show. This includes a fiery duet with diva Rachel Berry, portrayed by Lea Michele.
Charice, who plays a Filipino exchange student named Sunshine Corazon, belts out an awesome number with Rachel in the ladies room, to the tune of Lady Gaga and Beyonce's famous duet, Telephone.
Proving to be somewhat of a stiff competition and a spotlight-snatching potential, this prompts Rachel to send Sunshine to a Glee club audition at a crack house, but nof if Will Schuester (Matthew Morrison can help it. The optimistic mentor learns of the incident and invites Corazon to a real audition instead.
Now this is the real icing on the cake. Sunshine delivers the ultimate show-stopper, with a mind boggling rendition of Beyonce's Listen, complete with well orchestrated hand motions. If that isn't wicked, I don't know what is.
We definitely haven't heard the last of Charice. Two thumbs up plus toes and a salute. Like a major gun salute!
