Sorry, but those killer looks won't earn him the baddie role.

That's because renowned actor Martin Sheen has been wooed for the part of Peter Parker's warmhearted uncle Ben, in the most hyped about 'Spider-Man' reboot.

According to reports, the West Wing star is currently in negotiations for the role alongside young talent Andrew Garfield, (The Social Network) who will breathe life into Marvel's famed web-crawling superhero. Marc Webb's definitely playing his cards right.

If you recall, Cliff Roberton previously touched hearts in portraying Uncle Ben in the first installment of Sam Raimi's Spidey series wherein he delivered that popular punchline, "With great power, comes great responsibility." That dialogue truly defined Pete's crime-fighting career.

But that event's a thing of the past. Sheen has his own limitless bag of tricks and you can expect the versatile powerhouse to catch audiences off-guard with his own version of Uncle Ben. The mean and lovable type? Ask Charlie Sheen.

With the film slated for a distant 2012 release, there will probably be minor twists and turns along the way. What matters is the end product!
