Sacha Baron Cohen To Play Freddie Mercury!
Watch out folks, Sacha Baron Cohen turns over a new leaf!
The English comic, who skyrocketed to fame portraying goofy fictional characters like Ali G, Borat and Bruno, will drop the wacky image as he is
handpicked to play Queen's legendary frontman, Freddie Mercury.
Bruno, 38, an Oscar nominee known for his comical interactions with real life people in his previous flicks, is set to take on the mammoth role, and most serious one to date. He's a dead ringer, if you ask me.
Although it has not been confirmed as to who will direct the film, the script lies in the creative hands of Queen writer, Peter Morgan, who will cover the band's early years extending to their 1985 Live Aid performance.
According to Deadline New York, the rights to popular Queen songs have been secured by GK Films and Tribeca Productions, classical hits such as 'We Are the Champions,' 'We Will Rock You,' 'Another One Bites The Dust,' 'Bohemian Rhapsody,' and 'You're My Best Friend.'
Filming of the biopic is set to commence sometime next year, as revealed by producers.
You better start polishing on those high notes, my man. Or on second thought, your lip-syncing skills!
