John Travolta Has Dropped Extortion Charges!
For the sake of family, John Travolta has stepped on the brakes.
The Face/Off actor has decided to drop extortion charges against Tarino Lightbourne and Pleasant Bridgewater, the accused.
Reports reveal that the culprits were arrested for attempting to extort $25 million from Travolta and wife Kelly Preston, concerning some information about last year's death of their eldest son, Jett, who succumbed to seizure.
Yet due to the emotional strain this has caused on the actor's family, he no longer wishes to pursue the case. Charges were eventually dismissed by a Bahamian court on Monday.
According to Travolta in a prepared statement, "Almost a year later, the long pending status of this matter continued to take a heavy emotional toll on my family, causing us to conclude that it was finally time to put this matter behind us."
Besides their daughter Ella Bleu (born in 2000), Kelly is also scheduled to give birth in a few weeks to a boy.
I tip my hat off to the man.
