Ugly Betty Actor Hacks Mother To Death!

Truly gruesome, and spine-tingling.

Sounds like some movie but far from it. Ugly Betty star Michael Brea has been charged with murdering his own mother in cold blood as well as possession of a deadly weapon.

According to reports, the 31-year-old actor wreaked havock in their Brooklyn home, repeatedly slashing his helpless mother, 55-year-old Yannick Brea, with a 3-foot sword that lead to her tragic death.

Brea, who also appeared in 'Step Up 3D,' was plagued with financial problems including a waning Hollywood career, and lived with his mother and twin brother Marcel during unemployment.

His debt accumulated, owing American Express more than $13,000 and about $2,500 worth of taxes to the New York State, reveals court records. And not to mention an unpaid rent of almost $20,000 on his Subway Franchise, which eventually collapsed due to performance and management problems.

Sylvian Benoit, a longtime friend and barber reveals the actor's current state, saying, "Michael had many money problems and couldn't pay his bills. I think this happened because of stress over money."

The victim's terrifying screams for help were overheard by around Tuesday morning at 1 a.m. by neighbor Clinton Clare, who also was aware of Brea's ordeal.

Hours later, Brea woke up the whole neighborhood in the Prospect Heights apartment building quoting Biblical passages at the top of his lungs and demanding that his mother repent, before going for the bloody kill.

Authorities soon arrived at the scene and broke in and tasered the murderer, only to find Yannick's lifeless body kneeling in a pool of blood in the bathroom.

Brea presently remains under psychiatric evaluation.
