Nope, Jessica Simpson certainly won't be outdone . Recently following ex-hubby and 'Newlyweds' star Nick Lachey's revelation of an engagement with girlfriend Vanessa
Minillo, the singer announced Sunday that she two, will walk down the aisle with football player flame, Eric Johnson.

Simpson's rep breaks the news, saying, "Yes we are excited to confirm that they are engaged!" The sugary sweet couple have been dating since May before the big question was popped.

Reports have surfaced that Simpson felt the sting upon learning that Lachey will exchange vows with former MTV'S 'Total Request Live' host Minillo. She was quick to thwart such allegations.

"I don't know where all those rumors came from, discloses Simpson to Ryan Seacrest on Thursday. "My mom actually called me and said that everyone was saying that I was saddened. I was just in complete shock. I couldn't be more happy for Nick."
