President Obama: Gets 12 Stitches After Basketball Game!
You've officially become an enemy of the state, buddy.
Tell that to the guy who gave it to President Obama in the kisser. His excellency required 12 stitches on the lip after taking an elbow during a basketball game yesterday morning.
According to the White House, the player responsible for the said injury is Rey Decerega, who happens to be the director of programs for the Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute. Well by the looks of it, that's ex-director.
The venue for the pickup game took place at nearby Fort McNair, which involved Obama's family and friends visiting for the Thanksgiving holiday. Included in the lineup were Education Secretary Arne Duncan, Obama's nephew Avery Johnson and his personal assistant, a former player for Duke University.
The White House reveals that it was during the fifth and final set out of a five-on-five contest that the incident took place. Obama was playing defense on Decerega, who turned to take a shot, accidentally elbowing the US President.
As a result, Doctors applied stitches on Obama's lip under local anesthesia when he returned home to the White House. To minimize scarring, a smaller filament was used than usually required, making a tighter stitch.
Says Decerega through a statement, "I learned today the president is both a tough competitor and a good sport."
The big 'O' has got his eyes on you, sport.
