For Charity: Lady Gaga, Alicia Keys And Justin Timberlake Gives Up Twitter!
In this generation, you've lost touch with the world if you're not digitally connected.
But for a-list celebrities like Lady Gaga, Alicia Keys and Justin Timberlake, going offline won't hurt when it's a for a charitable cause.
According to reports, the powerhouse trio is going on a fund raising campaign which aims to raise $1 million, by pulling the plug on social networking sites such as Twitter and Facebook beginning December 1.
Pop diva Keys, who leads the campaign known as The Digital Life Sacrifice, aims to raise funds for her charity Keep a Child Alive, and also focuses on raising awareness for World Aids day.
Other celebrities also participating include Tennis sensation Serena Williams, Ryan Seacrest, Elijah Wood, Janelle Monae, Swizz Beatz and sisters Khloe and Kim Kardashian.
The Associated Press quoted Keys as saying, "This is such a direct and instantly emotional way and a little sarcastic, you know, of a way to get people to pay attention."
Turning off the switch in a digital world is no joke. But so is the cause behind it.
