Neil Patrick Harris realized that he was a little trigger-happy with those adjectives of his.
Recently, the former Doogie Howser star called soap actor Eric Braeden a "dirtbag," for cancelling a cameo role on the
Braeden, 69, reportedly agreed to a cameo appearance before pulling out of the show. Harris in return, tweeted Friday to a multitude of followers, saying, "We've cast with Ray Wise, a fantastic actor who makes any part 'substantial.' Super excited to welcome him to the family!"
This prompted Braeden, who is recovering from hip surgery, to air his side of the story.
"Everyone knows that I'm exhausted," Braeden tells
He also felt that Harris, 37, was making a big deal out of the whole thing.
"His choice of words bothered me," he said. It seems to me like a young whippersnapper, having seen himself in a few covers, who's received a few awards, is now suddenly suffering from the first signs of hubris."
Harris refrained from retaliating, and tweeted an apology when he discovered about Braeden's previous surgery.
"Now I feel bad for the D-bag comment," he says.
